Putting my poetry here because I want to be delusional about folks reading it.

While I was eating tacos
Which were at best mediocre
I saw a basketball game being shown
On a well-placed screen
I thought:
“The Denver Nuggets must be the best-dressed team in the association.”
which is most of what I’m capable of saying
About a basketball game.
Now I’m realizing that it’s March
(which I know in the game of baskets and balls
means Madness)
and am unreasonably surprised
that this year, unlike all others before it,
I have not heard even a whisper on the wind
Of the hoots and howls
Of basketball plebeians
Which to me had become synonymous
With late February
And early March.
How really strange for this to be the moment
When I realized with such clarity
That things happen
in the world
Even when I’m unaware.

She only knows I exist because of the fucking television and she's going, "Oh that was a good one!"

remember when it took me over a decade to realize what she was singing about

i remember when a ton of genres talked abt condoms and sti testing i.e. snoop “aint no pussy good enough to get burnt while i’m up in it” comes to mind among others.

This is why I miss the 90s and early 2000s.
